I am an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Colorado Denver. I earned a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Universidad de los Andes, and a Ph.D. and M.A. degree in Economics from Duke University.
I am a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), an Invited Researcher at J-PAL and a Faculty Affiliate at the CUPC at the University of Colorado Boulder. My research lies at the intersection of development and labor economics, with a special interest in the topics of conflict, migration and gender. My work has examined the impact of economic and policy shocks—including unexpected increases in violence, immigration enforcement laws, and extreme temperatures—on labor market outcomes, human capital, health, and migration. |
